Thank you for all your help when I needed it. I have been working at STRIDE for over five years and my life is going very good. Thanks to all of you, I have learned a lot of different things to do with my life. My art work is getting very good. I read better now. I listen to music. I work at the church. Thank you all for your help.
The staff at STRIDE have helped me rebuild my self-worth and job skills, promoting a new sense of self independence, responsibility and well-being. STRIDE performs an excellent function in our community.
My daughter had suffered a mental breakdown and as a result had been separated from her husband and lost custody of her young daughter. Not being part of the workforce for several years while caring for her daughter she had no recent working skills and was not comfortable interacting with other people. She now works full-time at a regular position and has shared custody of her daughter. She is fully supporting herself and I feel that much of her success is due to the help she received from STRIDE.Without the help of your agency I feel that she would have found it almost impossible to find employment and would probably have been reduced to living on social assistance.
STRIDE has given me more confidence and self-motivation. My symptoms of depression have diminished. I would like to take this opportunity to say “thank you” again and again for your support and kindness. I have gained meaningful experiences, improved work habits, stamina and improved self-confidence.
Thank you for your support and encouragement, especially for making me feel at ease and treating me as a person and not just a “number”. It’s allowed me to relax for a change. You have a natural way for creating a warm atmosphere. I enjoy your analogies as I can relate to them and reflect on them when the water gets “rough”.
When I came into the STRIDE program, I started working at the worksite. As my confidence grew I knew I wanted to find work in the community. With the assistance of my Employment Specialist I overcame my anger management issues and have been successfully working in the community for 11 months. I know I would not be working if I did not receive the support and encouragement from STRIDE.
STRIDE has helped me gain my self-esteem and confidence back. I am now working in the community and have been for 7 months. With the assistance of STRIDE and the ODSP-ES program I feel that I am a productive member of the community again.
When I first came to STRIDE I was not sure what lie ahead, but after 2.5 years of working in the same job, I know I have the confidence and skills to be successful in my journey. Thanks to STRIDE and their constant support I know I will achieve and reach all of my goals.
Working at STRIDE and with my Employment Specialist has given me the courage and strength to work full time in the community. There are days when I still struggle but knowing that I have the support behind me makes my day that bit easier. Thanks to STRIDE and staff for all they have done.
The Supported Employment Program at STRIDE and ODSP-ES provided me the ability to return to the workforce and in the field of study that I took in College. I have now been working for close to a year and find my work rewarding and challenging as I can help others living with mental illness.
When I first met the STRIDE employment specialist I was very impressed by her enthusiasm and willingness to help me. I can hardly believe how quickly you found a position that was right for me. Today I am a self-supporting member of society and completely off social assistance. I owe this success to STRIDE and am forever grateful.
