STRIDE’s customers are companies, agencies or individuals who require packaging or assembly services. These include pharmaceutical companies, industrial businesses, hardware suppliers, candy companies, the home and automotive care industry, communications and marketing firms, equipment recycling operations and mass mailers.
STRIDE has stayed in operation since 1983 by offering very affordable rates while not compromising the quality of its services. We can keep our rates low because we are partially subsidized by the provincial government and because we are a training program for people who want to move into competitive employment. We are a non-profit organization.
Many companies or individuals find it advantageous to use outside assistance during peak periods either because their existing staff cannot meet their demands or because of space limitations. STRIDE can provide the work at its premises using people who usually cost you less than people working for temporary help agencies or in your current labour force. STRIDE staff supervise the project, train the workers and fulfill the quality control function.
Rates can be quoted on a piece rate or hourly basis. Payment is required 30 days from date of invoicing. When you pick up your finished product, you will be asked to sign a packing slip that lists the work done. The packing slip will be used to generate an invoice which will be mailed to you.
Anything we do must meet your satisfaction. That is why we request written procedures and wherever possible, a sample of the finished product. We do everything we can to ensure we meet your requirements and you are satisfied with our work.
Most customers arrange and finance shipping in and out and supply the materials they would like us to use. If requested, we can arrange for transportation and supplies such as master cartons, printing of labels from a computer file, completion of postal and courier manifests etc. We can give you ideas on how best to package your products.
We are willing to work with each customer to implement their quality control requirements, up to and including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliance where necessary.
The Oakville site has a drive-in door as well as three loading docks. One of the loading docks has a dock leveller; the other two are accessible by use of a dock board. Loading and unloading is by fork lift and/or pump trucks. The site can usually take a full truck load (20-22 skids) at a time. The site is almost 10,000 square feet and has considerable racking to store skids.
The Acton site has a loading dock. Loading and unloading is by pump trucks and/or an electric walkie. The site can take up to a full truckload (20-22 skids). The site is 6,200 square feet and has considerable racking to store skids.
We are open regular business hours five days per week. Because we are a training program we normally do not have the option of keeping our plant open evenings and weekends. With an average workforce of 30 people per day we can usually meet the turn around time required by our customers.
