Better Jobs Ontario (formerly known as Second Career) is for unemployed individuals for which skills training is the most appropriate intervention to transition them into high-skill, in-demand occupations in the local labour market.
“My daughter had suffered a mental breakdown and as a result had been separated from her husband and lost custody of her young daughter. Not being part of the workforce for several years while caring for her daughter she had no recent working skills and was not comfortable interacting with other people.
She now works full-time at a regular position and has shared custody of her daughter. Without the help of Stride it would have been almost impossible to find employment and would probably have been reduced to living on social assistance.”
